Work out the concentration of a reconstituted research peptide in seconds. Enter the amount of peptide in the vial and the volume of solvent you plan to add — the calculator returns the concentration and, optionally, the syringe volume for a given draw.
Concentration
This tool performs unit-conversion arithmetic on the values you enter (concentration = mass ÷ volume). It is a laboratory calculation aid for research use only and is not a dose recommendation or guidance for use in humans or animals. A U-100 syringe measures 100 units per millilitre (1 unit = 0.01 mL).
How to use it
Reconstitution is governed by a single relationship: concentration equals the mass of peptide divided by the volume of solvent. A 10 mg vial made up with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives a 5 mg/mL solution; the same vial in 1 mL gives 10 mg/mL. The calculator does this arithmetic for you and expresses the result in mg/mL, µg/mL and µg per U-100 syringe unit.
The optional “amount to draw” field converts a quantity you enter into the corresponding volume and syringe units. It is purely a unit conversion — you supply the number, and nothing here suggests what that number should be.
Common questions
How does the reconstitution calculator work?
It applies the arithmetic of concentration: the peptide mass in the vial divided by the volume of solvent added, giving the concentration in mg/mL and µg/mL. Enter an optional draw amount and it converts that into a volume and U-100 syringe units.
What is a U-100 syringe unit?
A U-100 insulin syringe measures 100 units per millilitre, so one unit equals 0.01 mL. The calculator uses this to convert a volume in millilitres into syringe units.
What solvent is used to reconstitute peptides?
Bacteriostatic water is the most common laboratory solvent because its preservative limits microbial growth in a vial accessed over several days. Sterile water is also used. See our reconstitution guide for the full procedure.
